Julia Eileen Boone

November 13, 1921 — November 25, 2013

BOONE, J. Eileen, 92 years old, died, November 25, 2013. She is survived by her sister, Betty Boone Botdorf, nieces, Patricia Botdorf Martin (Thomas), Judy Botdorf Current, Nancy Botdorf Jones (Chris), and nephew, Joseph F. Botdorf, III (Marianne). She is also survived by great nieces Julia Courtney Martin, Ashley Current Eschenbach (Daniel), and Kate Jones Williams (Josh), great nephews Tyler Darrell Current and 1st Lt Christopher Jones, Jr and great - great niece, Addison Sona Eschenbach.
Miss Boone was a native of Atlanta, GA and lived her entire life in the Atlanta area - rarely meeting someone she didn't know or wouldn't soon call friend. After graduating from Druid Hills High School, she began work at Southern Bell, a career that spanned her lifetime. Miss Boone was a dedicated and tireless member of Decatur First United Methodist Church where she was a recurring officer in her Sunday school class, a member of many boards and committees, and frequently led special projects mostly related to children and the youth group. She was very close to her nieces and nephew and in many ways was a second mother to them. She was a member in the Atlanta Woman's Chamber of Commerce including being President. Miss Boone was a self-starter and master organizer, applying these skills at BellSouth as an administrative assistant and, later, focusing on the BellSouth Pioneers. She enjoyed traveling, and in addition to her personal trips with family and friends, she loved traveling to attend Pioneer district and national functions. Miss Boone dedicated herself selflessly to the many organizations and groups in which she was involved. She will be missed by many.
