Julia “Julie” Carolyn Hix, 41 passed away the evening of Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Hospice Atlanta, after a long battle with cancer. The youngest of three daughters, Julie was born December 30, 1966 in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating from University of Georgia, she worked in advertising for various companies in Tampa, Atlanta, San Francisco and Wilmington before finally settling in Atlanta. Julie was open-minded, loving, intelligent and creative throughout her life. She showed passion and diligence in everything she did, including the everyday (work, time with friends) and whims (drum playing, tap-dancing, a recent solo trip to Italy). Her professional career in print production allowed her to meet all types of people in various places. She loved her work at her most recent employer, BBDO. Wherever Julie traveled or lived, she gathered friends who would remain loyal throughout her life. She was consistently wonderful to be around. Julie is survived by her parents, Harwood and Mildred Hix; sisters, Gwen Hix and Susie Hix Corby; brother-in-law Richard Corby; niece and nephew Amanda and Adam Corby; and beloved dogs Niles and Lulu. Visitation will be held Friday, Jan 2nd at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at All Souls Fellowship Church, 647 E. College Ave., Decatur 30030 on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. The family requests any memorial donations be made to Hospice Atlanta. A. s. Turner & Sons
