Julie Ann Magee, age 46, passed away at home in Fairburn, GA on Saturday December 10th, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on January 26th, 1970, to Jean and Bob Dickens, in Avondale Estates, GA. She worked as an X-ray technician at DeKalb Medical Center from 1992 to 2011. She volunteered at the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office from 2011 to 2014, after which she was employed by the Fulton County Police Department as a Crime Scene Technician. Most recently, she had gone back to the Fulton Co. Medical Examiner, where she worked as an Investigator. She was also a member of the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (region IV), which led to her travelling to Haiti in 2010 to assist in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck that year. In April of 2015, she made a lifelong dream come true when she moved from Tucker, GA to the Crescent Valley Ranch in Fairburn, GA. There, she was able to surround herself with the animals she had always loved. She is survived by her children, Kelly Magee of Tucker, GA and Matthew Magee of Fairburn, GA; her mother, Jean Dickens of Avondale Estates, GA; her brothers, Bobby and Michael Dickens of Avondale Estates, GA; her nephew, Chason Dickens of Avondale Estates, GA and many cousins. She is also survived by her many pets, including cats, a dog, sheep, goats, donkeys, a horse and chickens. She will be remembered for her strength of character, her dedication to her work, and her love of animals (and Diet Coke).
