June Auchmuty Townsend Motley

June Auchmuty Townsend Motley, 81, of Decatur, passed away on December 29, 2018 from complications of dementia. She was born in LaGrange GA on August 26, 1937. June was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates and the chancel Choir. She was a teacher for 35 years in the city of Atlanta and was loved by everyone who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab for all their help. June was preceded in death by her parents James and Amelia Auchmuty and her first husband Rance Townsend. She is survived by her husband Gene Motley, Brother, Jim (Sue) Auchmuty, sister, Jane (Jack) Johnston, brothers-in-law, David Motley, Jim (Julelleyn) Motley and Larry (Shirley) Motley and a number of nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday December 31, 2018 at 11:00 am, at the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, Funeral Home, burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanette, AL at 4:00 pm Georgia time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates. The family will receive friends on Monday December 31, 2018 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
