Katherine Louise Holcomb Blackledge

Mrs. Katherine Louise Holcomb Blackledge, 81 of Decatur died on Thursday April 28, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Paul D. Blackledge; daughter Mary Elizabeth Blackledge Warren and son-in-law Cary Warren of Suwanee; three beloved grandchildren: Jonathan Paul, Christopher Brent and Katherine Marie; brothers James Linton Holcomb Jr. and sister-in-law Rita of Hartwell; Robert William Holcomb and sister-in-law Elizabeth of Cumming, GA; sister Mary Ann Eidson and brother-in-law Bill of Decatur. She is also survived by several loved nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
She was born to James Linton Holcomb and Eula Kate Branan in Tate, GA. She was a member for over 45 years at First Baptist Church of Decatur; a long-time employee of Rich's North DeKalb Mall, and a foster parent to 24 adopted infants. She was always known for her sweet kindness, beautiful smile, and loving generosity. She will be missed by her many friends and family that love her deeply. Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 1, 2011 at 2:00PM with her remains being placed in state at 1:00PM at First Baptist Church of Decatur in the sanctuary. Rev. Dr. Peter Rhea Jones will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 30, 2011 from 3:00PM until 7:00PM. at Turner Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. A.S.
