Katherine M. Pittman

Katherine M. Pittman, 94, died Monday, November 8, 2004. Born in Tennille, GA, to the late John C. and Mary C. Mathis, she came to Atlanta as a young woman, met, and married I. W. "Jack" Pittman. She was employed by the Georgia Power Company and later worked at Georgia Baptist Hospital. A member of Druid Hills Baptist Church, she was active in the Philathea Class. She enjoyed gardening with The Heaton Park Garden Club. Her special love and laughter are cherished by her children, Katrina Pittman Graham and Tom Graham of Atlanta; John I. Pittman, two grandsons, John and James Pittman of Charlotte, NC; her great-niece, and two great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her sister, Harrilou Williams, and niece, Mary Jo Howard. Since 1998, she was tenderly cared for by the staff at Medlock Gardens. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Dr. Harold D. Zwald officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Donations to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. A. S. Turner & Sons
