Katherine Rushin Partain

Mrs. Katherine Rushin Partain, age 84, died Sunday, July 17, 2005. Born in Atlanta, January 1, 1921, she was the daughter and fourth child of the late Ernest Walters and Mary Adair Dorsey of Atlanta. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Atlanta, and on September 28, 1939 married Hugh Terry Partain of Atlanta. Mr. Partain served in the Army during World War II and returned to Atlanta where the couple resided in the Cascade area. They later moved to Dahlonega. Following Mr. Partain's death, Katherine lived with her sister, Margaret Dowd. Katherine was a loving, caring person, who will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her daughter, Jerry Cone of Roswell; grandson, Ralph Sanford Sikes and his wife Mary; and four great grandchildren, Nicholas, William, Joseph, and Mary Katherine. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2005 at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Portsbridge Hospice, 1400 Buford Highway, Sugar Hill, GA 30518. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening at the home of Jerry Cone. A. S. Turner & Sons
