Kathryn Elizabeth Benton

Mrs. Kathryn "Kitty" C. Benton, 91, of Atlanta died Friday, March 21, 2014. Mrs. Benton graduated from Decatur Girls High, North Georgia College and received her Masters of Education degree from Georgia State University. She taught second grade in DeKalb County, retiring after a career of 30 years. She remained active in her sorority Kappa Theta and was extremely involved with Georgia State University's alumni association, Mortar Board and many of her Moreland Avenue Baptist Church groups. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Mrs. Elsie Cofer and Grandmother, Mrs. Lena Brooks. She is survived by her daughters, Molly Benton and Laurie Benton Becker, son in law, Mike Becker and grandaughter Brooks Becker. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at A. S. Turner and Sons. Visitation with the family will be at 12:30 pm with a service to follow at 2:00 pm. Internment will be at Westview Cemetery. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
