Katurah Witt Newsome

Katurah Witt Newsome, age 92, of Decatur, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005.  She was married to Paul Lowry Newsome, who preceded her in death in 1989.  She was a member of Decatur Presbyterian Church and was active in the Decatur Lioness Auxiliary for many years.  She was a member of the Clairmont Avenue Garden Club and also the Parkwood Garden Club.  She is survived by her sons, John Paul (Freddie) Newsome of Decatur, GA, James Lowry (Margaret) Newsome of Decatur, GA, Robert Thomas (Peggy) Newsome of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Sue Anna Newsome (Tom) McPhail of York, SC; brother, Randy Witt of Bradenton, FL; sister, Bette Witt (Cecil) Newman of Okeechobee, FL.; eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23rd at 11:30 a.m. at Decatur Presbyterian Church.  Dr. Jasper Keith will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Decatur Presbyterian Church, 205 Sycamore St., Decatur, GA  30030, or to the charity of your choice.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
