Kenneth D. Brock, 52, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sheila E. Brock; daughter, Kelsey Cathryn Brock of Atlanta; mother, Mozelle Findley Brock of Anderson SC; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Robert Welborn of Rex GA; nephews, Chris Brock of Anderson SC, Justin Welborn of Atlanta, and Aaron Welborn of St. Louis MO. A native of Anderson SC, Mr. Brock was a 1973 graduate of T. L. Hannah High School in Anderson. He received the rank of Eagle Scout. Mr. Brock received an A.A. from Anderson College and a B. S. from Baptist College in Charleston SC. He received a Respiratory Therapy degree from Medical University of South Carolina and later received a M. M. Sc. degree in Critical Care Medicine/Physicians Assistant at Emory University. He has worked at Emory for 21 years in the Pulmonary/Internal Medicine department. At Emory Hospital, Ken was highly respected for his mastery of medical knowledge, procedures and teaching skills. He was known not only for his medical expertise, but for his humor and rapport with patients and staff. He worked closely with interns, residents, physician assistants, students, and attending physicians. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his wife and daughter, his family, his many colleagues, and friends. A memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 12, 2007, at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church with Chaplain Elwood Spackman officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at a reception at the church.
