Kenneth "Kenny" Scott Backus

Kenny Backus, 52, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 13, 2018, while walking his beloved dog, Max.

Kenny was known as the “Mayor of Derrydown” because of his loving spirit and helpful nature. His boundless love for animals made his job of caring for dogs at Rex and Roxie’s a joy. Kenny was a lover of music and a talented musician, having learned to play the organ at 5 years of age.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Carole, whom he has been caring for during her battle with cancer. Also surviving are his parents, Bill and Jean; sister, Kim; cousin, Amy and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday April 29th in the Chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to his services.

A “Go Fund Me” has been set up for Ken Backus to receive donations.
