Kerry Abraham

Kerry Abraham of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully July 9th, 2017 at the age of 58. Kerry was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend that was loved by many. She was the owner of a smile that lit up the world!

Born in Syracuse, New York on October 25th, 1958, Kerry grew up as the oldest sister to three younger brothers she cared for very much. She was an avid swimmer, hiker, and sailor, and loved anything that brought her close to the mountains or water. Kerry graduated from Keuka College in 1980 and began a long career in the hospitality industry with Hilton Hotels eventually ending up in Atlanta, Georgia.

Kerry was known for her love and selflessness, always reaching out to others with genuine thought and concern. She was a mother to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her compassion led her to volunteer frequently with the animal rescue organization Angels Among Us, where she was a foster mom to a multitude of cats and dogs.

Kerry will be welcomed into heaven by her loving grandparents, Emily and Charles DeLyne, and her father, Ted Flack. She is survived by her family, Charlie, Emily and Thomas Abraham, her mother, Mimi DeLyne Flack of Syracuse, and her three brothers, Palmer, Theodore and Christopher of Syracuse.

A memorial service for Kerry will be held Saturday, July 22nd at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur, GA. A reception will follow for friends and family to gather and celebrate Kerry’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to either Angels Among Us or Church of the Common Ground, two organizations she cared passionately for.
