Kitty Montgomery Steele

Kitty Mae Montgomery Steele left us on Friday, January 23, 2009.  She was the daughter of Duard and Christopher Burrus Montgomery, the wife of Victor Steele, the sister of Cecile Montgomery, the sister of Harold and the sister-in-law of Ethelle Montgomery, and the niece of her beloved Aunt Ora Montgomery, all of whom have predeceased her.  Kitty was born on September 28, 1911 in Moreland, Georgia (Coweta County).  When the family moved to Atlanta, she attended Oakhurst Elementary School and graduated from Decatur High School.  Kitty spent her entire professional career as that of the Assistant to the US Attorney in downtown Atlanta.  She was a member of the Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, GA.  She is survived by her nephew Mike Montgomery and his wife Linda and their daughter Molly Crigler (Andy) and their children Brian and Katy, her nephew Les Montgomery  and his wife Anita and their daughters Mindy McKeaige (Tom) and Joy Montgomery, and her cousin, Frances Anne Kelnhofer.  Kitty spent her later retirement life at Clairmont Place in Decatur, GA, where the service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, with Dr. Bob Browning officiating.
