L. B. Smith Jr.
L.B. Smith Jr. was born in Laurens County near Dublin, GA on March 17, 1917. After spending 4 years in the US Army serving in WW II, he was a very well respected residential developer and home builder in the North Atlanta area for 40 years and a devoted husband of 49 years to Opal Hooks Smith who died in 1991, his grandson, Fletcher Hall also predeceased him in 1996 and a loving father to his only child, Karen Smith Hall of Atlanta. He was also a loving grandfather to his 2 grandchildren, Chadd Hall of Sugar Hill GA, Gretchen Hall of Wellesley, Ontario, Canada. He died on Thanksgiving morning at Hospice Atlanta after a very brief stay in the hospital for congestive heart failure. A graveside service will be held at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens on Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, GA at 2 P.M. on Sunday, Nov. 29th. The family will receive friends in their home after the service.
