Lance Aaron Wissman, 48, of Atlanta, GA died at his home December 3, 2018. He was born September 21, 1970 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX to Jon and Daphne Wissman. Lance was preceded in death by his father, Jon Wissman; grandparents, Oscar Wissman and Charles and Jean Burke. He is survived by his mother, Daphne Wissman; grandmother, Nellie Wissman; brothers, Scott Wissman and Jon David Wissman; two nieces, Ireland Wissman and Holly Wissman, as well as as two bonus nieces, Jayde Scogin and Hailey Gomez; and a nephew, Julian Wissman. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and a sister-in-law. A native of Dallas, TX, Lance graduated from Skyline High School in 1989, attended Eastfield Community for two years and acquired a certificate in Surgical Technology from El Centro College, Dallas, TX in August 1996. From 1989 to 1996 he worked at Zale Lipsky University Hospital, Children’s Medical Center and Parkland Hospital while he went to school. He began working with Emory Healthcare in 1997, Atlanta, GA playing an essential role on various operating room teams as a Surgical Technologist including Cardiac/Vascular, Heart/Lung Transplant, Liver/Kidney Transplant/ Plastic/ Orthopedic, ENT, Opthamology and many other specialties. Lance also served as a preceptor, teaching new Surgical Technologists and Nurses clinical application and experience. Graveside services will be held for him in Gerry, NY in the fall of 2019.
