Larry Lee McKinney, 87, of Atlanta, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Mr. McKinney was the son of Ola C. McKinney. Joining the Navy at 17, he served in the Panama Canal Zone during WWII. He received his BS in Biology from Emory University in 1950 and soon after began his career at Schering Pharmaceuticals where he started in sales and rose to District Sales Manager. He was a dedicated gardener, avid golfer, a reluctant bridge player, and was deeply, deeply loved by his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances Sealy McKinney; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gilbert Rossie; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Gina McKinney; grandchildren, Amanda Rossie, Christy Matthews, Justin McKinney, Cecily Karrantza, Colton Karrantza and two great-grandchildren, Teagen and Adam McKinney. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Embry Hills United Methodist Church with Rev. Elaine Puckett and Rev. Lee Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
