Laura Abrunza, 99, died peacefully at her home in Decatur, Georgia on September 20, 2022. She was born to Vincent and Jennie Pascarella on July 28, 1923, in Watervliet, New York.
Laura is survived by her two children, Jinni Daffner of Decatur, Georgia, and Anthony Abrunza of Waxhaw, North Carolina, and his wife Kate and their two children Summer and Willow; her grandson Jason Daffner and his wife Carrie Edwards along with her great-grandchildren Samantha and Benjamin Daffner and other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Abrunza of Troy, New York, her sister Mary Clarke and brother Charles Pascarella.
She met the love of her life at a dance in Troy, New York, and soon married on July 9, 1947. When Laura’s children were young, it was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. But, she was an exceptional mom for her era working full time while taking care of her family. She cared deeply for her family which her children could see as they grew older. There was not a time they could remember where their needs did not come first, sometimes to the discontent of their father. She was everything to her husband, children, and extended family and there is no way to measure the love she had for them. She was the best mother a family could have and will be dearly missed by everyone. Thank you, mom, for everything, we all love you.
