WALLER-
Lauree Mason Waller died September 8, 2004, at Fountainview Nursing Center at the age of 92 years. She was a third generation Atlantan and the third daughter of Ernest Walton Mason and Maude McDonald Mason, who preceded her in death, as did her sisters. Emma Frances Mason died in August, 1908 and Elizabeth Mason Patterson died in January, 2000. She was married for 67 years to Hugh Sturgis Waller, a Georgia Pharmacist and Drug Store owner, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Waller was a longtime member of Epworth United Methodist church, and when Mr. Waller retired, they moved to Monroe, Georgia, where she was a member of Campton United Methodist Church. She was a talented musician and played piano and organ at both churches, and for the pleasure of others, especially Mr. Waller. Due to failing health, the couple moved back to the Atlanta area in the early 90?s. She is survived by four daughters; Gaye Waller Kitchen and husband Charles, Gene Waller Owens, Mimi Waller Powell and husband Ralph, and Lynn Waller Harp and husband Olin; ten grandchildren, Charles S. (Chuck) Kitchen, Jr., Jeffrey M. Kitchen, Lauree C. Hemke, Cynthia C. (Sam) Hussey, Marshall E. Cheek, Dorothy P. Deviney, Elizabeth, P. (Beth) O?Conner, Kathryn H. Van Horn, Vivian H. Brust, Bradley W. Harp; and eleven great grandchildren. The service will be Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 12:00 noon, with burial to follow in Eastview Cemetery; the Rev. Gene Waller Owens, Rev. Kenneth Van Horn, and Britt Kitchen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer?s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60601-7633, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Friday, September 10, between 6:00 & 8:00 p.m. and one hour before the service at A. S. Turner & Sons.
