Lauren Nash, 92, of Decatur, died February 17, 2011. A native of Washington, Georgia, Mr. Nash served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII in the 961st Engineering Company of General Patton’s Third Army, which assisted in the liberation of Europe and several of Germany’s concentration camps. He was the long time owner of Nash Garage in Decatur and a proud member of the Panthersville Masonic Lodge and the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta. Mr. Nash was a member for over 60 years at First Baptist Church Decatur. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Nash of Decatur. The funeral service for Mr. Nash will be held 1:30 pm, Monday, February 21, at the graveside in Decatur City Cemetery. Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell will officiate, followed by military honors. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 to 1:00 at A. S. Turner & Sons.
