Laurie Mitchell Bartlett

Mrs. Laurie Mitchell Bartlett of Alpharetta, formerly of Decatur died Sunday, August 26, 2007.  She was assistant administrator for the preschool at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Baptist faith.  Mrs. Bartlett attended the University of West Georgia, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.  She was an accomplished interior decorator and loved gardening.  Mrs. Bartlett was preceded in death by her father, Glysson Lawrence Mitchell, DVM.  Mrs. Bartlett is survived by her husband of 11 years, Charlie Bartlett; son, Jackson Dukes of Alpharetta; step-children, Sandy and Dora Bartlett, all of Alpharetta, Celeste and Derwin of New Jersey, Carrie and Eric of Calhoun, Elise Bartlett of Santigo, Chile,  Leah Bartlett of Snellville; and five grandchildren; and mother, Jacquelyn Mitchell of Decatur.   Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M.  Tuesday, August 28th at Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  Dr. Glenn Etheridge will officiate.  Interment will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Dana Farber Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA. 02115.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.
