Laurie S. Wagner, 53, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005. Her brave struggle to live a normal life while undergoing continuous chemotherapy was an inspiration to all who knew her. Laurie graduated with honors from Lakeside High School and Duke University. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Her life revolved around the love of her family and friends. She had a wonderful listening ear, and throughout her life people came to her for advice. One of her first jobs was as a career counselor at Harvard University, helping students with their choices for the future. Later she followed her knack for listening and her talent at connecting people into a successful matchmaking business. Her most recent job was teaching English to foreign students at the American English Institute, where she also enjoyed advising them on life in America. Laurie also loved movies, which led her to a job in the film and television industry, where she met her husband, Mark. Laurie and Mark had a mutual love of the lakes in northern Michigan where their family spent every summer. Her recent years were spent enjoying the activities and lives of her daughters, nieces, and nephews. Her smile, sense of humor, and her love of life will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband of twenty-one years; her daughters, Lili, Melanie, and Holden; her sisters, Christy Sturgeon and Wendy Threatt; and her brother, Rick Stauffer. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28th, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. A. S. Turner & Sons
