Lawrence Bernard Boyd

Lawrence Bernard "Larry" Boyd, 87, of Stone Mountain, died December 29, 2010. Mr. Boyd served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, Atlanta division, Class of 1952. He was the Administrative Manger of the Atlanta Branch for the Frigidaire Division of General Motors, where he worked for 32 years. Mr. Boyd later worked for MILICO Insurance Company, where he was employed for 8 years. He is survived by Virginia Rivers Boyd, his wife of 67 years; daughter and son –in-law, Deborah and Larry Leftwich of Monroe; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Charlotte Boyd of Loganville, Brian and Kay Boyd of Clarkesville. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, December 31, 2010, at one o'clock, in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons with Dr Bill Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 to 8 o'clock at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
