Leigh Augustus Cunningham, Iii

Leigh A. (Gus) Cunningham, III went to be with his Lord on October 11, 2007. Gus, the son of L. A. Cunningham, Jr. and Elizabeth Teal Cunningham, was born on December 17, 1941. He attended Medlock Elementary and Decatur High School. He also attended North Georgia Military College and Southern College of Pharmacy, Mercer. Gus worked for SuperX, several independent drug stores, then at Georgia Regional Hospital. After a stint in commercial real estate, he returned to pharmacy at the VA Hospital in Long Island, NY. Disabled by an injury, he moved with his family to Brush Valley, PA where he spent the rest of his life. Gus is survived by his mother, Elizabeth T. Cunningham; children, Chris of CA, Roxine, Grant and Lance, all of PA; brothers, Scott of Hawaii, Dan of Stone Mountain and a special aunt, Emily Barker of Decatur. He was very proud his grandson, Ameon of PA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 20th at 2 p.m. in the Decatur First Christian Church, 601 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., The Rev. Dr. James Brewer-Calvert officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the church parlor. A. S. Turner & Sons
