Leigh Jackson Freeman, Sr.

Leigh Jackson Freeman, Sr., 92 of Decatur, GA, passed on Sunday September 29, 2019 at Emory Decatur Medical Center. He was born in Troy, Alabama in 1927 to Levi Freeman and Barbara Pinson.

His wife, Nonagene Freeman, survives him. They were married for over 69 years. He is survived by his children, daughter, Jean Anderson of Decatur; son and daughter-in-law, Leigh and Claudia Freeman of Tucker and daughter, Barbara Givens of Decatur; his grandchildren, Jeremy Givens, Patrick Anderson, Anna Watson, Ashley Freeman, and Mara Golden; and seven great-grandchildren.

He attended Columbia Drive Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of the University of Alabama. He enjoyed square dancing, gardening, wood-working, University of Alabama football, coffee and chats at Clairmont Place, sitting at the lake, and visits from his seven great-grandchildren.

The family welcomes you to visit A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA. at 9:30 am on Tuesday, October 1st. The service will follow at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in his memory to Columbia Drive Presbyterian Church.
