Leland Ashley Moore of Doraville, Georgia passed away at Emory Hospital on Sunday, November 23, 2008. He was born in Register, Georgia into a family of 13 children. He proudly served his country over five years in the Signal Corps in North Africa and Italy during World War II. After his military service, he attended the University of Georgia and he graduated from the Southern College of Pharmacy. He was a pharmaceutical representative for Sterling Pharmaceuticals for 15 years. Following his service with Sterling, he served as a pharmacist for Eckerd Drugs for 15 years. He was a long time member of Briarlake Baptist Church, where he was active in the Progressive Men’s Bible Class. He was the last surviving sibling from his family of 13 children. He is survived by his wife of 54½
years, Sarah Satterfield Moore. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Annette Moore of Claxton, Georgia and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetic Association.
