Leon G. Halkos

Leon G. Halkos of Atlanta, Georgia died on September 1, 2016 at the age of 84. Born and raised in Hopewell, Virginia, he moved to the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. as a young man where he was successful in a variety of businesses before retiring to Atlanta 35 years ago.

He is survived by his brothers Michael J. Halkos of Kent Island, Maryland, Alexander A. Halkos, M.D. (Penny) and Demetrius Mazacoufa of Atlanta; his sister Mary Liviakis (George) of San Carlos, California; his aunts Stella Tsourounis and Georgia Tortitork of Virginia; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

The family invites friends to attend the Trisagion prayer service of the Greek Orthodox faith on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 7:00 pm at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the St. Elpis Greek Orthodox Church in Hopewell, Virginia and internment in Appomattox Cemetery.
