Mr. Leonidas (Louis) Rumanes, age 72, of Atlanta died Wednesday night, September 1, 2004. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rumanes was employed at Lockheed in Marietta for forty years retiring in 1996 and a member of The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of The Annunciation for forty years. Mr. Rumanes was a member of The Laconian and AHEPA Society of Atlanta. Leonidas was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley McDowell Rumanes; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Chebib of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Kaley Rose and Emily; sister, Mrs. Kiki Leontis of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Mr. & Mrs. George Rumanes of Beverly Hills, CA, Mr. & Mrs. Peter Rumanes of Roswell, GA; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4th at 11:30 AM, Father George Alexson officiating. Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Georgia Chapter, 2625 Cumberland Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30339. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
