Lewis Foster

Lewis "Lee" Leon Foster, a cherished husband, dedicated father, and lifelong Decatur resident, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on October 14, 1951, in Decatur, Georgia, Lee was a steadfast presence in his community, known for his commitment to animal welfare and public service as an Animal Control Officer for Dekalb County.

His role in County Government allowed him to make a significant impact on the lives of both animals and the residents he served, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to the community he loved, where he was an avid coach to the youth. His love for sports and coaching was a instrumental part of his life as well as his love for The University of Alabama.

Lee is survived by his devoted wife, Martha Foster; son, Jonathan Foster, and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Foster; son, Jeff Gibson; grandsons, Jeffery Gibson and Joseph Gibson; and brother, Frank Foster. He also leaves behind a loving network of family, including his nephew, Greg Foster, and niece, Tonya Foster. Each of them holds cherished memories of his kindness, humor, and wisdom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Franklin and Nell Foster, and nephew; Frank Foster, III.

Friends and family are invited to come together to reflect on the profound impact he had on their lives and to share stories that illustrate the warmth and compassion he brought to the world, Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N. Decatur Rd Decatur, GA 30033. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N. Decatur Rd Decatur, GA 30033. Followed by interment at Westview Cemetery 1680 Westview Dr SW Atlanta, GA 30301.

Lewis "Lee" Leon Foster will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
