Mrs. Lillian “Ritchie” Sharian, 78, of Decatur, GA died Saturday, April 3, 2010. She was born in Griffin, Georgia on May 30, 1931 to Joseph Charles Ritchie and Mamie Lillian Miller Ritchie. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marie Ritchie Wilson; her fraternal grandparents, James Charles Ritchie and Minnie Lynch Ritchie, maternal grandparents, James Washington Miller, and Oceola “Ola” Skinner Miller and sister Marie Ritchie Wilson. She attended Decatur Schools, Oakhurst Grammar School, Decatur Girls High School, Class of ‘48 and graduated from Agnes Scott College, Class of ‘52. Upon graduation from Agnes Scott, she worked 1 year for T.V.A. in Chattanooga, TN. She returned to Decatur, Georgia and married Bedros Sharian, Jr. at Pattillo Methodist Church in May of 1953. She was a long time member of Pattillo Methodist Church, where she taught Children’s Sunday school and sang in the choir. Her main focus in life was as a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. Her few outside activities included studies in Ancient Civilizations and reading mostly contemporary fiction, genealogy, artistry and bird watching. Mrs. Sharian is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bedros Sharian, Jr.; sons, Bedros “Bedo” Sharian, III and his wife, Deborah; and his step-daughter, Sarah Hampton and her husband Jarrad, and their son, Aiden Hampton, Ritchie James Sharian and his wife Shelia; daughter, Ruth Sharian Garner and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Jim Garner, III, Sharian Marie, Kaitlyn Sharian, ungerHunHunter Sharian; sister, JoBeth Griffin and brother Jim Ritchie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 1:00 P. M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Rev. Dave Allen Grady, Rev. Charles Cooper and Dr. David Jones will officiate with songs by Roger Quillen. Interment will be at Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at A. S. Turner & Sons.
