Linda Bess Buckhalt Burkett

Linda Bess Burkett, 72, from Lilburn went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday April 8th, 2017. She was born September 18, 1944. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Robert "Bob" Burkett, daughter Kelly Guerriero (Chris), brother William Buckhalt (Lynn), nephew, Eric Buckhalt, niece, Celeste Jackson (Jason), great nephew Tyler Jackson and two great nieces, Madeline and Savannah Jackson.

Bess was an Atlanta native and long time resident of Lilburn where she lived since 1976. She was a graduate of The University of Georgia and had a masters from Georgia State University. Bess taught in the DeKalb County school system for 20 years.

The visitation is from 7 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Smoke Rise Baptist Church Chapel. The funeral service will be at noon on April 13, 2017 also at Smoke Rise Baptist Church. There will be no burial service.
