PICKENS, LINDA JEAN
Linda Jean Pickens, 94, died peacefully on April 18, 2015, in her apartment at Kings Bridge, Atlanta. She was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on January 28, 1922, to Mildred Sutton Marlor and Henry Smith Marlor. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Cecil, after 71 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents and three brothers. Linda was a graduate of Vassar College. She is lovingly survived by her children, Lynne Pickens, Pamela Knowles (Gary), and Timothy Pickens (Nanc); grandchildren, Laura Gonzalez (Rodney), Andrew Knowles (Romina), and Nathaniel Pickens; greatgrandchildren, Catalina and Mia Peixoto-Knowles and William Gonzalez, and many nieces and nephews. Linda and Cecil lived in 17 different places during their marriage, including 5 years in Berlin, Germany. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 24, at Holy Trinity Episcopal, 515 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue, Decatur, GA 30033, at 4 p.m. in the chapel. Another memorial service will be held in June in Charlestown, Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 N. Chase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, Ga 30067, or a charity of your choice.
