Linda Louise Smith

Linda Louise Lindy Smith, 53, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sun., December 7, 2014, at DeKalb Medical Center. Lindy was a vibrant woman known for spreading cheer and kindness. She was particularly noted for her beautiful alto singing voice. Lindy was born in Gainesville to Franklin L. and Mabel (Miles) Mathis. Since her marriage in 1988, she has lived in Lawrenceville. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Shelby Pace. She is survived by her husband, Curtis M. Smith of Lawrenceville; her two sons, Luke M. Smith of Athens and Paul F. Smith of Statesboro; her sister, Judy Thomas of Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration service of her life shall take place Thurs., Dec. 11, at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Snellville, 3 pm, with family visitation beginning at 2 pm. Also, on Sat. Dec. 13, at Brewer Lake Baptist Church in Day, Fla., will be visitation at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am, with burial following at the Day Cemetery. In lieu of funeral flowers, Lindy requested that you give flowers to your family and loved ones still living or give a memorial gift to Mount Zion Baptist Church or Samaritan's Purse. A. S. Turner and Sons,(404-291-1551) Decatur, GA are handling the Georgia arrangements and Daniel's Funeral Home, ( 386-362-4333) Live Oak, FL are handling the Florida arrangements.
