Lisa Stephens Stratton passed away on April 5, 2009. She was the beloved, caring and generous wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many who appreciated her sweet spirit and unselfish nature. Lisa was baptized at Indian Creek Baptist church, graduated from Redan High School and Mercer University and earned a Master of Science degree at Emory University. She worked as an especially skilled and compassionate anesthetist at Piedmont Hospital for many years, as well as serving at Douglas Wellstar and several other metro Atlanta hospitals. Lisa was blessed with many talents -musical and artistic -and was willing to tackle any task from interior decorating to cleaning horse stalls. With her husband, Andy, whom she adored, they spent many hours using a multitude of skills enhancing the beauty of their home and property for family and friends to enjoy. Lisa's loving spirit and enthusiasm for life will be missed not only by all those people who loved her so, but also by the many animals she cared for. Now we must be grateful that she has touched our lives with her many special gifts and know that a loving heavenly Father is embracing her. Lisa is survived by her husband, John Anderson (Andy) Stratton; parents, Dorothy and Perry Stephens; sister, Carol and husband Bob Brown; brother, Glenn and wife Carole; brother-in-law, Bill Stratton and wife Adrienne; nieces, Lindsey Brown and Elizabeth Stratton; nephews, Michael and David Brown, Andrew and James Stephens, and Robert Stratton. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 11th. Rev. Jimmy Kinnaird will officiate. Burial will be at Indian Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Indian Creek Baptist Church, 3901 Rockbridge Rd., Stone Mountain, GA 30083. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 10th at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur.
