December 9, 1962 — January 16, 2019

Littleton Hugh (Hutch) Moore, III, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, due to complications from pneumonia after a valiant battle against cancer. Hutch was born on December 9, 1962, and was a lifelong resident of Decatur. He was the son of Mary Hazzard Moore and the late Littleton Hugh Moore, Jr.

Hutch was a founding partner of Moore & Reese, LLC, where he served clients and the broader legal community for over thirty years. He was very active in the Decatur and greater DeKalb community, including service on the Board of the DeKalb Bar Association, the Board of Interfaith Outreach Home, as well as service on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission for the City of Decatur.

Hutch loved dogs and enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood with his dog, Durango. He loved to hike, kayak, and be outdoors, especially in Highlands, NC, where he and his family frequently visited.

He was an avid sports fan and athlete. He attended college on a tennis scholarship and ran several marathons. He continued his involvement in sports by coaching St. Thomas More basketball teams for both of his children, Berkeley and Gaines, as well as DHYS baseball and YMCA soccer teams.

Hutch is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debbie Neely Moore; daughter, Berkeley Moore; son, Gaines Moore; mother, Mary Moore; stepfather, Stephen Schwab; sister, Mimi Moore; aunt, Nelrae Joan Little and many more loving family and friends.
