Mrs. Livia (Morales) Mowiser passed away at home with her family on May 19, 2023, in Decatur, GA. She was 91 years old.
Livia was born in Peru to the late Herminio Morales and Ana Bromley. Livia grew up in the town of Huari in the Andes Mountains. Her family owned a general store, where she attended to customers. She also had fond memories of playing on her grandmother's farm.
When Livia was 14 she left Huari to attend boarding school in Lima. At age 22 she came to Atlanta, GA with a friend to learn English. In Atlanta she met and married James Edward Mowiser. They were married for 45 years.
Livia worked at the Federal Reserve Bank and later at Rich's Department Store. She was a long-time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she made many treasured friendships. Livia lived a full life and loved gardening, birds, and knitting. She had a flair for cooking, especially casseroles and flan.
Most of all, Livia loved her doting on her family, especially her grandkids. She will be dearly missed and is forever in our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Mowiser and her siblings: Javier Morales, Olga Guzman, Amelia Arribasplata, Blanca Arribasplata, and Carmela Arribasplata.
Surviving Livia are her son John Mowiser, daughter Elena Murphy (Tim), grandchildren Kyle Murphy and Maria Murphy, brother Otto Morales (Marta), and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends, including lifelong friend Dina Asencios.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
