Lois Green Harris

On January 19, 2015, Lois Green Harris, Norcross, Ga, went to be with the Lord. She is a beloved wife, mother, sister, educator and friend.
Lois was born in Ft. Polk, La, on April 18, 1954 to Addie Smith Green (Columbus, Ga), and the late Harold A. Green, Sr. She grew up in the Carver Heights area of Cols, and graduated from Carver/Baker H.S. in 1972, where she was an Honor Society member and cheerleader. She graduated from Brenau U. in Gainesville, in 1976 with an education degree.
Donald Harris (Norcross, Ga) became her life partner on July 14, 1979. The family and their strong spiritual beliefs bonded them together as one. Lois is survived by five children: Jonathan Paul, Stephen Lewis, Daniel Nathan, Christine Olive and Joanna Lynn.
In addition to her husband, mother and children, Lois' surviving siblings are: Barbara Lane (Tampa, Fl), Vivian Jackson (Cols), Michael Green and Denise Cooper, both of Atl. Also, sister-in-law, Gloria Smith (Detroit) and brother-in-law, Larry Lane (TPA). Brothers, Eric and Harold Green, Jr, preceded her in death. She is loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, students, and specials friends.
Lois was an active member of the Church in Atlanta, Shallowford Rd., and she also found great joy in teaching at the Gerard Preparatory School, in Lawrenceville, for over 25yrs.
The Family is grateful for all the support, kind words and joyous outpourings of love for the Legacy of Lois.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 25, 2015 from the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons with Gary Ditzler, Sr. officiating. Interment will be Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:30 am at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home. A.S.
