Lola Capps Keene, daughter of J. W. & Mary Louisa Pierce Capps, born April 3, 1913, died April 8, 2008 at the age of 95 after a short illness at Gwinnett Medical Center and Embracing Hospice, Cumming, GA. She was a 7-year resident of Atria Buckhead Assisted Living before moving to Lifecare Center of Lawrenceville in Nov. 2007. A native Atlantan and life-long resident, she graduated from Commercial High School. Lola was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles D. "C.D." Keene and her son, Richard K. Keene. She is survived by daughters, Kathryn "Kaye" Keene Johnson and husband, Gerald, of Big Canoe, GA; Brenda K. Wells of Olathe, KS; and son, Charles "Chuck" Keene of Jefferson, GA; nieces, Gloria Yancey Jones and Phylis Yancey. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Lola was a 40+ year employee of Trust Co. of GA. (now SunTrust Bank), working at both the Downtown and E. Atlanta Offices. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church with membership at Ousley UMC, Decatur, a charter member of Mountain Park UMC, Stone Mountain, Kelley's Chapel UMC, Decatur, and Berkmar UMC at Duluth. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The United Methodist Children's Home, 500 S. Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30030. Visitation on Fri., April 11; 12:00-1:30 pm at A.S.
