Loraine Stringer Wilmot

March 3, 1919 — September 21, 2004

Loraine Stringer Wilmot, 85, of Decatur died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from complications of Alzheimer?s Disease.  Loraine was born March 3, 1919 in Buford, GA, moving to Atlanta as a child.  She attended Girls High, was employed by Sears Roebuck and later the US Government during World War II.  After the war she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Loraine was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Charles L. Wilmot, in December 2003, as well as by her brothers, W. Kenneth, James Forrest, and Robert H., and her beloved twin sister, Lillian S. Ward.  She is survived by her sons, Lee Wilmot, Jr. (Kitty) of Roswell, Don Wilmot (Kelly) of Decatur; daughter, Denise Peacock (Davis) of Decatur; grandchildren, Erica Lasky, Pat Wilmot, Reid Peacock, Gabe Peacock, and Kendall Wilmot; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert H. Stringer (Quilla); and numerous nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11:00 Saturday, September 25.   Rev. Cynthia Vaughan officiating.  Interment Decatur Cemetery.  Flowers will be accepted or those desiring can make donations to the Alzheimer?s Association, Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Blvd., N.E., Suite 10, Atlanta, GA  30345-3315. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
