Lorene Garner Phair

Lorene Garner Phair of Decatur, GA passed away October 4, 2011. She is survived by a brother, William Garner, her daughters Joan Pauly and Julie Rhame, son-in-law Rhett Rhame and grandchildren Jonathan and Kathryn Pauly and Sydney and Skylar Rhame. Born in 1930, the daughter of Maurine and Boyd Garner of Cedartown, GA, Lorene graduated from West Georgia College and began her career in medical records, serving as director of medical records for Georgia Baptist Hospital and Egleston Hospital for Children, where she retired in 1995. She lived in St. Simons Island, GA after retirement and returned to Decatur in 2005. Funeral services and reception will be held Sunday, October 9, at 3 PM at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church with burial in Cedartown, GA, on Monday, October 10, at 12:30 PM. Family will receive friends at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033 October Saturday, October 8, 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta or Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Known as “Sis” to many, she will be greatly missed.
