Lorraine Vincelette Merrill

Mrs. Lorraine Marie Vincelette Merrill, 65, of Springfield, GA very peacefully entered into rest May, 11, 2009 at approximately 6:30p.m., while surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Richard S Merrill. A native of Highland Falls, New York, Mrs. Merrill was the daughter of the late Alfred Leo Vincelette and Alvina Marie Mattson Vincelette. She attended Sacred Heart School, Highland Falls, NY. Her husband Richard (Rick) is retired military and they were previously stationed at West Point, NY; Schofield Barracks, HI; and Ft. Stewart, GA. She was famous for her infectious laugh, her tender heart, her indomitable spirit, and the pride she displayed in her family. She is survived by her beloved sons, Steven E. Pangle, Allenhurst, GA; Bert F. Pangle (Michelle), Goodman, MO; Richard B. Merrill, San Francisco, CA; Michael D. Merrill (Joe Rogers), Decatur, GA; her beloved daughter, Dawn M. Shaw (Ken), Lynchburg, VA; loving grandchildren, Christopher Pangle, Kayla Medders, Toby Pangle, Danielle Cabell, Brittany Pangle, RJ Cabell, Brayden Pangle, Hunter Shaw, Makensie Tomlinson; loving sisters, Dolores Johnson, Springfield, MO; Theresa Earl, New Windsor, NY; loving brother, George Vincelette, New Windsor, NY; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother Alfred Vincelette and her sister Rosalie Williams. A visitation will be held from 4-7pm with a wake service from 7-8pm on Thursday, May 14,2009 at A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033,404.292.1551. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2009 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 636 W Ponce De Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030, 404.378.4588. Following the mass the family will receive visitors at the house of her son Michael Merrill (Joe Rogers) at 1955 Mason Mill Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Flowers accepted at the funeral home or the home of Michael Merrill.
