Louise C. Childs

Mrs. Louise C. Childs, age 90, of Decatur died Thursday, May 8, 2008 of natural causes. Smart and independent, Louise shared her love of books, reading and learning as an elementary school librarian for many years, and continued her own learning by obtaining her master's degree when in her forties. She prided herself on always trying to do her best at any task that she took on, whether reading a story aloud to a group of children, or caring as a loving wife for her husband, Grady. She loved to entertain (and to dance), and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends at her home. She was a long-time faithful member of First Baptist Church of Decatur and the Dunstan Sunday School class, and valued greatly her many friends there. Louise is survived by her daughter, Jane Childs Carr of Decatur; son, Jim Childs and his wife Susan of Winder; grandsons, Curry Carr and Gary Sizemore; granddaughter, Christa Hewatt; and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:0 0 A.M. Saturday, May 10th in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Decatur with Rev. Terry Buice officiating. Interment at Decatur Cemetery. Visitation from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, Georgia. A. S. Turner & Sons
