Louise Cowan

Louise Estes Cowan, 96, loving wife, mother, and grandmother died peacefully October 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Cecil Gregory Cowan. Survivors include her son Cecil Gregory Cowan, Jr. and his wife Ann of Stone Mountain and grandchildren: Andrew Gregory Cowan, Sarah Louise Cowan White and her husband Ian Andrew White, and Thomas Christian Cowan.
After graduating from Rutledge High School and attending the Madison Business School, Louise worked in Madison and Porterdale. In 1941, she began a long career working for the Citizens and Southern National Bank in Atlanta. She held several positions with the bank, retiring as Head Cashier of the C & S Emory Bank.
She was a long-time member of North Decatur United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, in the Women’s ministry and with faithful service to the Willis Levie Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Decatur United Methodist Church in memory of Louise.
