Frances Louise LePortier moved to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Louise graduated from Cedartown High School in 1955. She attended Berry College and the Washington School of Art. She is a granddaughter of a Confederate Soldier and served as President to the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Agnes Lee Chapter for four years. She was a member of the Grand Jurors Association. She retired from Fisher Scientific in 1993 and in 2006 became the Ministry Assistant at Valley Brook Baptist Church. Louise was married to Charles J. Waites, Sr. of Cedartown. She is survived by her two sons, Charles Johnny (Chuck) Waites, Jr. and Cason Jeffrey (Chip) Waites; her two daughters-in-law, Linda and Cecilia Waites; seven grandchildren, Bethany, Corey, Jordan, Cole, Anna, Chandler and Megan Waites. A celebration of her life will be held at Valley Brook Baptist Church in Decatur, GA on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 10:00 am with Pastor Mike Roper officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm CST/2:00 EST at Arrington Chapel Baptist Church 795 County Rd. 181 Piedmont, AL 36272. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 2:00 - 6:00 at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA. Donations may be made in her memory to Valley Brook Baptist Church, 1198 N. Valley Brook Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
