DAVIS - Louise Lott
Mrs. Louise Lott Davis, a City of Decatur resident since 1946, died Sunday, April 29, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Davis, who served 31 years as City Attorney of Decatur. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She attended Piedmont College and was a graduate of Oglethorpe College, taught school in Gwinnett County, and later worked in San Francisco as a biochemist for the war effort during World War II. She was a member of the Adelphia Sunday school class of First Baptist Church of Decatur and was an accomplished artist and gardener. Surviving her are daughters and sons-in-law, Susan & David Bennett of Decatur, Jeanne & Clement Sansone of Decatur; grandchildren, Davis Franklin & Helen Humphries Bennett, Brian Anthony Sansone & John Patrick Sansone all of Decatur; two great grandchildren, Grayson Thomas Bennett & Candler Stuart Bennett; and her caregiver Hazel C. Tye. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with Dr. Peter Rhea Jones officiating. Interment will be in Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be sent to First Baptist Church of Decatur, Free the Dream. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
