Lieutenant Colonel Martha Elizabeth Moseman (U.S. Army retired), age 95, a long time resident of Decatur died Wednesday, November 14, 2007. A native of Athens, Georgia, she was born on March 11, 1912, the daughter of the late Mr. John H. Moseman, Sr. and Mary Pope Morris Moseman. Miss Moseman received her BS from the University of Georgia and her Masters from Ohio State University. She retired as a Lieutenant Colonel on April 30, 1965 after 22 years serving in the Army Medical Specialist Corp. She served as Chief Food Services officer at several Army stations and received many accolades for her dedicated work with student dietetic interns. After retirement she continued practicing her profession and also volunteered as a host at Fern Bank Museum, Dekalb Historical Society and other community oriented services. Miss Moseman was a long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church at Candler Park. Preceded in death by her only sister and four brothers, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great great-great niece and nephew, all scattered throughout the United States and Canada. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17th at one o'clock in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with the Reverend Bill Edwards officiating. Interment Crest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from twelve o'clock noon until the hour of service at A. S. Turner & Sons.
