Lucille Harwood Mills

Mrs. Lucille Harwood Mills, 85 of Snellville, passed away November 28, 2011. Born in Conway, AR, she was a graduate of Arkansas State Teacher's College. She taught in Fairfax County, VA and retired in 1989 after 20 years of teaching with Gwinnett County, GA. She was a member of ADK Professional Teachers Sorority and helped found a branch of Tri-Sigma Service Sorority at Oglethorpe University. Lucille was a lifelong and active member of Decatur First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis L. Mills; son, Bob Mills; and sister, Edna Yingling. She is survived by sons, Nelson (Maureen) Mills, Dean Mills and William (Gabriella) Mills; granddaughters, Rebecca Adcox and Rachel Mills; grandsons, Andy, Rob, Chris, Brad, Tony, Chris, Oscar and Oliver; one great grandson; and sister, Marjorie Hancock. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Decatur First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons
