Lucy Ann Moose, age 89, of Charlotte, N.C. and Atlanta, Ga. passed away on October 7, 2010 in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Clyde Moose Sr. and Lucy Abernathy Moose of Charlotte N.C. ; brother, T.C. Moose, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.;and sister, Sara Louise Moose Greenway of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her sister, Betty Moose Johnson of Fort Walton Beach Florida, along with eight nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews. Miss Moose was born August 28, 1921, in Charlotte, N.C. She attended Queens College in Charlotte, N.C. and also served actively in the United States Navy at The Pentagon during World War II, followed by 3 years in the Naval Reserves. Miss Moose had a long-standing career in fashion merchandising with several large retailers, in addition to retirement from the United States Army & Air Force Exchange Service. After living for many years in New York City and abroad in Hong Kong and Germany, Miss Moose retired to Atlanta, Georgia where she became a very active volunteer and received her 20 Year Volunteer Award from The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. Miss Moose was a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in Statesville, North Carolina at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Road, N.W, Atlanta, GA 30305 or Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, N.E., Atlanta, Ga 30319.
