Lucy Richards Perkerson

Lucy R. Perkerson, age 102 of Atlanta, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011. She was a 1927 graduate of Girl's High and received her degree from Shorter College in 1931. Mrs. Perkerson retired from DeKalb County School System after many years as an elementary school teacher. She was a wonderful grandmother, a dedicated teacher, and a devoted member of Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar J. Perkerson, Jr. and is survived by her daughter, Jane (Hoyt) LeMaster; son, Edgar J. (Susanne) Perkerson, III; grandchildren, Robert LeMaster, Andy LeMaster, Heather Barrett and William Perkerson; and great grandchildren, Avery Perkerson, Ansley LeMaster and Logan Perkerson. Funeral services will be held at Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment, Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at the church. A. S. Turner & Sons, Decatur.
