Lynn Therese Portee

Lynn Thomas Portee, a long-time resident of Dekalb County, Georgia passed Wednesday the 24th of June in the year 2020. She is the daughter of the late Leonard Wilson and Muriel Josephine (Gilbert) Thomas.

Born in 1949 in New Jersey, Lynn received a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Merrimack College. She was a 35 year employee of BellSouth, where she worked until her retirement.

Lynn loved gardening and a good Bloody Mary. She had a great feeling of love for her children and grandchildren and enjoyed socializing, when she was not taking care of her pets.

She is survived by her five children, Danielle (Alfred), Gregory (Deyvi), Maureen, Thomas (Justine), and Preston (Soneka), two nephews Tyrone and Michael, and three nieces Racquel (Liram), Mary (Harambe), and Susan (Meredith). She is also survived by a brother Leonard Thomas Jr. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren Deanna, Adrienne, Alaina, Devin, Jordan, Aiden, Tiffany, Kayden, Ryan, Grayson. Aaliyah, Jayden, Evelyn and Jacob, all of whom live in the Atlanta area, and brought great joy to her later years.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her twin sister Gail Maureen Thomas and her younger brother Michael Gerard Thomas.
