Lynnda Ann Levitt
August 7th, 1947 - December 16th, 2024
Lynnda Levitt, age 77 of Tucker, GA finished her race and passed peacefully on December 16th, 2024, to be in the presence of her Father in heaven and her Lord Jesus Christ. Lynnda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, teacher, neighbor, and friend. Born and raised in Montgomery, AL, Lynnda moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in graphic arts in which she excelled and met her husband Arthur L. Levitt. It was then she began to find her true calling to family and inspiring children. Lynnda was a preschool teacher at Oak Grove United Methodist Church from 1986-2014, teaching 2-3 year olds giving them a safe place for hands-on instruction and creativity in those formative years. During that time she also developed and operated a one-of-a-kind Christian after school club (The Oak Grove Afterschool Club) to serve families and elementary aged children in north Dekalb County. She spent the last years of this calling serving as a nanny to the Tong Family (Drs' Frank & Phyllis, Elise, Amelia, and Olivia).
Lynnda loved her family with all of her heart and she made sure to develop unique and special relationships with each one of them. She will be remembered for making holidays, birthdays, and the little things special and memorable with fun and creative crafts, food, and decorations. She loved flying (Lynnda earned her pilot's license in her younger years), playing sports, and showing her grandkids she could still do a backflip on the trampoline. She faced every circumstance with courage and an unwavering faith that "God is so good". Her memory will certainly be a blessing.
Lynnda is preceded in death by her husband Arthur L. Levitt and her father and mother, James Hudson and Betty L. Hudson. Lynnda is survived by her children Beth (Larry), Farrell (Debey), Jamie (John Paul), and David (Kassy). Her grandchildren Elizabeth (Michael), Kathleen, Jeremiah, Reilly, Luke, Adalynn, Brooke, Khloe, Joshua, Asher, and Ivan. Her great grandchildren Anna, Charlotte, and soon to come "baby coconut". Her brother Charles (Dixie), her niece Melanie, and her sisters-in-law Hermina and Sonia.
A celebration of life service will be held on December 27th, 2024, at the A.S. Turner & Sons Chapel, 2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Visitation with family will begin at 1:00 PM with service following at 2:00 PM.
